Ahead of the March 28 and April 11 elections unknown gunmen were said to have kidnapped All Progressives Congress, APC House of Assembly candidate for Ganjuwa West state constituency, Alhaji Yusuf Inuwa.
The kidnappers, it was learnt, took away their victim while on his way to Miya from Bauchi on Monday night
Family source attributed the incident to the April election, as Inuwa was said to be popular and accepted candidate for the constituency.
Residents said the development has thrown the entire community into mourning and palpable fear of the unknown
Speaking to National Mirror on the matter, the Police Area Commander in charge of the area, Mr. Bassey, confirmed the incident but said investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the driver of the kidnapped politician, Danliti Amadu Rungo, told newsmen that the abductors come with a black 406 Peugeot salon car and forced them to stop at gun point.
Rungo said the abducsotors took the aspirant away immediately to undisclosed destination, although they spared him.
On their part, family of the kidnapped candidate and his supporters have called for intense prayers in order to seek for divine intervention on the matter.
They called on security agents in the state to embark on intensive search in order to rescue the candidate from captivity.
